Hi I’m Shruti! Welcome to Yoga Mapp, my humble space for all things yoga and wellness.

I having used yoga, massage and physiotherapy to rehabilitate after a ski injury and three leg operations. I worked in recruitment in London for 16 years and spent my time learning how to balance the pressures of a stressful job with my own mental, physical and emotional well-being. More recently, I am enjoying the benefits of a more somatic yoga practice to help release personal trauma, overcome fear and enjoy a more embodied experience overall. I look forward to welcoming you to the mat soon!

Yoga

I’ve completed 200 hours of Ashtanga Vinyasa yoga training, 100 hours Vinyasa Advanced and 75 hours Yin and Sound Healing. I know that I’ll be a forever student of yoga. 🙂

When we practice yoga together, I encourage you to find your version of the yoga pose and enjoy the journey and time we have on the mat.

Vinyasa Yoga is a beautifully creative and flowing practice, with vibey seasonal playlists and a theme we can work with together to build a group energy, strengthen the body, focus the mind and improve our balance. I encourage you not to take your practice too seriously and be curious!

Yin and Restorative Yoga offers space and time – to explore the shapes, ease into the depths of our fascia, connective tissue and ligaments to help lengthen and ease tension.  No matter how you arrive, the intention is to leave calmer and more relaxed – “I wish I’d never been to yoga” said noone, ever!

Massage

I’ve also trained in Swedish and Deep Tissue Massage therapy as well as Indian Head Massage and love to incorporate these more therapeutic elements into my yoga classes (especially in Savasana, rest pose at the end!).

My passion is to help you achieve a sense of deep relaxation, be that through massage or yoga online, in-person in South London or on retreat.

Background

I’ve been practising yoga since I can remember, firstly with my mum and then to rehabilitate my leg with classic hot Bikram yoga, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Yin after two accidents in 2010. I see it as a non-negotiable part of my life and enjoy practising a range of styles to absorb a variety of benefits, from the physical and spiritual, to the relaxation found in more restorative styles.

I’ve completed 375 hours of my training in Goa, India with some incredible teachers, including Prianca Shharma, Alan Ellman and Sudhir Rishi.  I look forward to returning to India in 2026 to develop my practice and continue to build on my understanding of this ancient tradition. Namaste.

  • I am participating in online (“Zoom”) or in-person Yoga classes offered by Shruti Srivastava during which I will receive information and instructions about Yoga: breathing techniques (pranayama), meditation, physical exercise (asana) and physical and / or verbal adjustments.
  • I recognise that exercise requires physical exertion, which may be strenuous and may result in physical injury, and I am fully aware of the risks and hazards involved. I understand that it is my responsibility to practice carefully, and use given pose modifications or stop altogether as and when I deem necessary.
  • I understand that it is my responsibility to consult a physician prior to and regarding my participation in yoga classes offered by Shruti Srivastava.
  • I represent and warrant that I am physically fit and I have no medical condition which would prevent my full participation in the classes I have applied to join.
  • If I am pregnant, I understand that I participate fully at my own risk and that of my unborn child/children and will consult a doctor/physician prior to participation in classes with Shruti Srivastava.
  • In further consideration of being permitted to participate in the Yoga classes, I knowingly, voluntarily and expressly waive any claim I may have against Shruti Srivastava for injury or damages that I may sustain as a result of participating in these classes.
  • I am fully responsible for my own well-being (physical, mental, emotional) during the class and will only practice at my own pace.
  • I will inform the teacher (Shruti) if there have been any changes in my medical / health condition which might affect my Yoga practice before participating in a class via email, and heed the advice given thereafter.

Massage Client Disclaimer:

  • I understand that Shruti Srivastava will be performing a physical treatment. I agree to completing a client consultation prior to my treatment.
  • I confirm that it is my responsibility and not that of the therapist to consult with my GP before the treatment if I have any health conditions or concerns.
  • I am willing to proceed without my GP consent or consultation prior to receiving treatment and understand there will be no refunds in the event of cancellation as a result of a medical condition which I have not disclosed.
